Poster & Social Media Project
The objective of this project was to create a poster and coordinating social media for an event of my choice. I decided to create a Christmas-themed worship night event. Although I wanted to incorporate Christmas colors into my designs, I wanted to incorporate a more neutral, warm palette of Christmas colors. I used deep red, evergreen, cream, and gold as the main colors. These colors bring out a warm side of Christmas and fit the coffee shop environment that the worship night is held in. In addition to this, I used Adobe Illustrator for the majority of the design process. I used a lot of line work when it came to designing both the poster and social media graphics. Specifically, I created different versions of Jesus' manger to connect and keep the graphics consistent with the title and theme of the event. When I think of the birth of Jesus, I think of the simple Gospel: key word "simple." Although line work is not always the easiest thing to create, I think it communicates best the simple Gospel. The title of the worship night is "O Come Let Us Adore." This title and the line work communicate a simple message of "o come" to all who are invited. Coming to worship with the church should be simple, warm, and inviting, and I wanted to best communicate that message through the design choices in the poster and social media.
